Thanksgiving Holiday Dinner:
The American Legion, Post 3, will again deliver free Thanksgiving Holiday Dinners to the elderly, shut-ins, veterans, and needy in the Cape Ann area on Thanksgiving, Thursday, November 22, 2018. We will be serving Gloucester, Rockport, Manchester, Essex and Ipswich. The American Legion Post No. 3’s mission is to insure that no one goes without a holiday meal on this special day. Every year, many of our recipients are veterans and/or their families. Often, the only individuals that these “special citizens” see on these holidays are our drivers, who bring not only an outstanding holiday meal but also a cheery greeting and smile. Our goal is to serve as many meals as we can. In light of continuing economic hardship and cutbacks, the demand and requests for support continues to rise and we want to meet it!
Volunteer Servers and Drivers are also needed for Thanksgiving Day. We will need Servers from 10:00am until approximately 12:45pm and drivers from 10:15am until all of the meals have been delivered.
How to order and volunteer:
- Call 978-283-9710 after 3:00pm (and leave a message)
- Call 978-283-7117 anytime (and leave a message)
- Email your request to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please make sure to clearly give your name, address, phone number and number of meals.
Deadline for meal orders and volunteer sign up: 6:00pm, Monday, November 19, 2018
Deliveries will be made on Thanksgiving Day between 11:00am and 12:00pm. The Post will also serve free dinners at the Legion Thanksgiving Day, starting at approximately 11:30am until 12:30pm.
Monetary donations, pies, turkeys, and produce are also needed. Mail monetary donations to: American Legion Post 3, PO Box 122, Gloucester, MA 01931-0122, or call 978-283-9710 after 3:00pm or 978-283-7117 anytime to arrange for pickup of food products.
Thank you for your ongoing support,
