Providers will learn how to better serve their clients. \nIn this presentation Phil McCabe will detail essential terminology and provide a basis for understanding the challenges faced by the LGBTQ community when navigating our current healthcare system. The course is relevant for providers who serve older populations as well as youth. \nProviders need to understand the complexity of sexual identity and gender expression in working with LGBTQ individuals. Social and cultural variables\, mental health\, trauma and substance use\, in addition to specific risk behaviors can create barriers to the effectiveness of prevention messages and treatment interventions in helping clients to enact behavior changes. \n Presenter: Phil McCabe\, School of Public Health Workforce Development\, Rutgers University \nRegistration link \n *You will need to create an account or log into your existing Conversations account to register for the training\, and will need to access that account for the live webinar.
