 All meals are free of charge & ALL ARE WELCOME!

  • Citizens Inn Haven from Hunger (71 Wallis St, Peabody 978-531-1530) will be offering a seated meal on Thanksgiving Day beginning with appetizers and soup at 11AM, and a seated meal at 12PM-12:30PM. To-go’s will be available for pickup after seated service at 12:30. Meals are served on the second floor (handicapped lift available) in the dining room.
  • Brother’s Deli (41 Market St, Lynn 781-581-3363) will provide “Take Out” Thanksgiving meals that will be available from 8:00am to 2:00pm on Thanksgiving Day.
  • My Brother’s Table (98 Willow St, Lynn 781-595-3224) is providing “To-Go” Thanksgiving meals to individuals and families from 12:00 noon to 6:00pm; No volunteers are needed for Thanksgiving Day, but they are in need of volunteers the rest of the year. Extra meals are available for people to take to neighbors, friends, etc. who are unable to pick up a Thanksgiving meal to-go for themselves.
  • The Friends of Salem Council on Aging (Salem) are sponsoring home delivered Thanksgiving dinners to Salem seniors this To sign up please contact Rosanna Donahue at the Salem Council on Aging (SCOA) at 978-744-0924 to register for a meal by Friday, November 18. The SCOA is working with Brother’s Taverna to provide the dinners.
  • Gloucester American Legion is delivering Thanksgiving meals to Cape Ann area residents in need (Gloucester, Rockport, Manchester, Essex, Hamilton, Wenham, and Ipswich). Please call the Legion at 978-283-7117 (anytime and leave a message), or email nestorlaw@aol.com, by Monday, November 21 at 12:00 noon to sign up by leaving your name, address, phone number, and number of meals. Volunteer drivers are welcome, as well as monetary donations. (Scroll down on this page for more details on the American Legion meals)
  • Lifebridge (56 Margin St, Salem 978-744-0500) will pe providing meals for Thanksgiving at their Day Center 54 Margin St (the church with the red door) from 12-2 pm for those with reservations. To Sign up please RSVP no later than Friday, November 18th by dropping by the day center or calling our main number at 978-744-0500.
  • The Derby restaurant (Salem) will not be providing a Thanksgiving meal this
  • Ellis Square Friends (Beverly) will not be providing Thanksgiving meals this

** Please contact your local food pantry if you need food to prepare your Thanksgiving dinner at home.

** “Gina’s Giving Back provides Thanksgiving food for people to cook dinner in their own homes. If you live on the North Shore and would like to sign up for food delivery, please email Gina at: ginarn75@icloud.com, with your name, address, phone number, and number in your household by Friday, November 18, 2022. Singles in need of a “heat and eat” Thanksgiving meal may also email Gina.

Thanksgiving Holiday Dinner 2022

The American Legion, Post 3, will again proudly deliver free Thanksgiving Holiday Dinners to the elderly, shut-ins, veterans, and needy in the Cape Ann area on Thanksgiving Thursday, November 24, 2022. The meals will again be Free. We will serve the communities of Gloucester, Rockport, Manchester, Essex, Hamilton, Wenham, and Ipswich.

“NO ONE SHOULD BE ALONE AND WITHOUT A HOT MEAL ON THANKSGIVING!”

Our goal is to deliver as many holiday meals as we can to our fellow veterans, their families, our senior citizens, and other “special citizens.” Last Thanksgiving, we successfully served and delivered over 650 free Thanksgiving meals. With soaring inflation and rising food prices, the demand is still there, if not more. Post No. 3 of the American Legion intends to honor it.

Volunteer Servers and Drivers are Needed for Thanksgiving Day

We will need servers from 10:00am until all the meals have been served.  We will need drivers from 10:00am until all the meals have been delivered. We will again be operating out of the Open Door Food Pantry, 28 Emerson Ave, Gloucester, MA.

How to Order and Volunteer ONLY AFTER WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 2, 2022.

Recipients: Clearly give your name, address, phone number, and the number of meals requested.
Drivers/Servers: Clearly give your name, telephone number, and email address.

Details

Deliveries will be made on Thanksgiving Day between 11:00am and 1:00pm. Recipients MUST BE HOME to receive their meals. Unfortunately, the Post will NOT BE ABLE TO serve free dinners at the Open Door on Thanksgiving Day.

Monetary donations are needed, but no food donations can be accepted this year.
