Malnutrition Awareness Week™ (MAW) is an educational campaign founded in 2012 by the American Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition (ASPEN) to address the important issue of malnutrition in healthcare, especially among hospitalized patients. The campaign’s success has elevated malnutrition as a global health priority and inspired other organizations to initiate similar
awareness efforts.

Supported by organization ambassadors, corporate sponsors, and collaboration with like-minded societies, MAW has extended its reach worldwide, engaging millions of healthcare professionals, policymakers, patients, and caregivers.

Each year, ASPEN hosts a week of educational webinars and provides complimentary clinical tools and patient resources to help identify, treat, and prevent malnutrition. These materials, as well as information on how to become an organization ambassador, are available at nutritioncare.org/MAW.
