SeniorCare Inc., an organization that provides and coordinates services for older adults to enable them to live independently at home while remaining part of their community, received a two-year $135,000 general operating grant from Point32Health Foundation. The funds support community-led approaches to improve conditions for older adults and help build thriving communities for all ages.
Funding from the Point32Health Foundation will help strengthen and expand SeniorCare’s Age & Dementia Friendly Connections (ADFC), an initiative that ensures people of all ages and abilities can fully access, enjoy, and contribute to community life. With a growing population of older adults in the region—such as Rockport, where 47% of residents are age 60 or older—the initiative has a special focus on fostering communities where older adults can continue to lead healthy, enriching, and socially connected lives. “Age & Dementia Friendly Connections takes a regional approach to identify, promote, and elevate best practices that support healthy aging throughout our communities,” said SeniorCare CEO Scott Trenti, who continued “We’re proud to continue supporting Age & Dementia Friendly efforts in partnership with the communities of Topsfield, Hamilton, Wenham, Beverly, Essex, Manchester-by-the-Sea, Gloucester, Rockport, and Ipswich—working together to foster inclusive, age-friendly environments.”
This grant is one of 39 new investments totaling $6,845,000 from Point32Health Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Point32Health and its family of companies, including Harvard Pilgrim Health Care, Tufts Health Plan and Care Partners of Connecticut. This investment is part of a broader strategy of the Foundation to invest in organizations that are collaborative, have deep community relationships and authentically engage in actions for healthier outcomes.
“Point32Health is committed to making the communities where we live and work great places to grow up and grow old,” said Kristin Lewis, president of the Point32Health Foundation and executive vice president of Point32Health. “These grants will advance community-led solutions and create environments where we can all thrive as we age.”
