No one should be without a hot meal on Christmas
The American Legion, Post 3, Gloucester, is once again proudly 
preparing and delivering free Christmas Ham dinners on Thursday, December 25, 2025. For many years, the Capt. Lester S. Wass American Legion Post No. 3 has been dedicated to providing free holiday meals on Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter to veterans, the elderly, and others in need. The mission is to ensure that no one goes without a hot meal and a smile on these special days. Individuals are served in Gloucester, Rockport, Manchester, Essex, Ipswich, Wenham, and Hamilton.
This program relies entirely on volunteers. If you’re interested in helping to package or deliver meals, the Legion would love to hear from you. Servers are needed from 9:00am until all meals are prepared and drivers until all meals are delivered. Drivers arrive at 10 am and will receive further instructions once signed up. The dinner will operate from the Open Door at 28 Emerson Avenue, Gloucester, MA. Join the Legion team and make a difference!

Call 351-217-8010 and leave a message (please speak clearly & slowly) or Email your request to
Legion3meals@gmail.com (preferred). DO NOT CALL THE POST!
To Order: Provide your name (spell your last name), address (include your town), phone number and number of meals.
To Volunteer: Provide your name (spell your last name), phone number and e-mail and indicate Server or Driver.
Firm deadline to order meal and volunteer is Monday, December 22, 2025, 5:00pm.
Deliveries will be made on Christmas between 10:00a.m. – 12:00p.m. The meal recipient MUST BE HOME to receive their meals. Unfortunately if recipient is not home the meal cannot be left.
Monetary donations are needed, but no food donations. Mail monetary donations to American Legion Post 3, PO Box 122, Gloucester, MA 01931-0122. Please note on the check Holiday Meal Program.
