American Legion Delivering Thanksgiving Dinners

American Legion logoThe American Legion, Post 3, Gloucester, will again proudly deliver FREE Thanksgiving Holiday Dinners on Thursday, November 27, 2025, to the elderly, shut-ins, veterans, and needy in the  communities of Gloucester, Rockport, Manchester, Essex, Hamilton, Wenham, and Ipswich.

“NO ONE SHOULD BE ALONE AND WITHOUT A HOT MEAL ON THANKSGIVING”

The Legion’s goal is to serve and deliver as many holiday meals as we can to veterans, their families, senior citizens and other “special citizens.” Last Thanksgiving, the Legion successfully delivered over 650 free Thanksgiving Meals. With the soaring inflation and rising food prices The demand is still there, if not more. Post No. 3 of the American Legion intends to honor it.

Volunteer servers are needed from 9:30 am until all the meals are served. Volunteer drivers from 10:00 am until all meals have been delivered. The project will again be operating out of the Open Door Food Pantry, 28 Emerson Avenue, Gloucester, MA.

To Order and volunteer: after Friday, November 7th:

    • Call 351-217-8010 and leave a message. DO NOT CALL THE POST!
    •  Email your request to legion3meals@gmail.com.

Meal Recipients: Please speak slowly and clearly. Leave your name (spell your last name), address, phone number and the number of requested.

Deadline for meal requests and volunteer sign-up is Monday, November 24th at 5pm.

Details:
Deliveries will made between 10:30 am and 12:30 pm. Meal recipients MUST BE HOME to receive meals. The Post will not to serve dinners at the Open Door on Thanksgiving Day.

Monetary donations are needed, but no food donations. Mail monetary donations to American Legion Post 3, P.O. Box 122, Gloucester, MA 01930-0122.
