Invisible Victims and the Pursuit of Justice: Analyzing Frequently Victimized Yet Rarely Discussed Populations (published June 2021) explores the true scope of crime victims and pioneers the assertion that our view of victims needs to be more inclusive by exploring invisible victims that are rarely, if ever, a focus of discussions in traditional victimology textbooks.
Throughout the book, experts and professionals from academia and the fields of criminal justice, social work, and mental health acknowledge victims historically overlooked by society, political movements, the media, and/or the criminal justice system.
One goal of the book is to give readers insight into real people, who are employed in specific professions or affiliated with organizations that work with victimized populations.
SeniorCare is proud to announce that Protective Services Director Renee Carr contributed to and was featured in chapter 12, Understanding Elder Victimization and Best Practice Intervention Strategies. This chapter was co-authored by Beverly Dolinsky, a member of SeniorCare’s Advisory Council and a Professor of Psychology at Endicott College.
