Ombudsmen Advocate for Elders

two women discussing care in a nursing homeLONG TERM CARE OMBUDSMAN VOLUNTEERS are trained volunteers who inform people in rehabs and nursing homes about their rights. This program works to improve the quality of life that residents receive. Volunteers are initially trained by the State LTC Ombudsman Office of the Executive Office of Health and Human Services, and they also receive ongoing training through SeniorCare. Continuing education helps the Ombudsman volunteers stay informed about new therapies, services, or other related topics, so they can effectively advocate for nursing home residents in our communities.
